Brian Laundrie, of the Arctic Monkeys, helped stage the event with Lady
Samantha Cameron at the age of 14 – and now the couple who were at his Arctic Monkeys gigs say they’ve been camping next to his parents, scaring off his younger brother and possibly his step-mother.
The prime minister’s wife’s friend Baley Mattsson and his wife Norah Campston said Laundrie’s parents had called them to tell them Brian had camped outside their home with his younger brother, 24-year-old Josh.
The couple claim they walked past the campsite at Laundrie’s family home near Bude in Cornwall to add their voices to his mother, Lynne, and sister-in-law Kathy’s public defence of the Tory donor.
Campston said: “Lynne said ‘he’d been camping outside my home’ and I said ‘who’d set up a camp in the middle of your garden at 1am with my children’ and she said ‘at my children’s age, what can I do?’
“The parents were fuming. To say the least, it’s very un-Briwn-like.”
Laundrie told the BBC his younger brother had invited him to return to his house and “play Fifa” with him.
He said: “He said: ‘I’d like you to come back and play Fifa with me, and I’d like you to come round to my house’.”
A spokesman for Samantha Cameron said they were now inquiring about the account.
