President Donald Trump congratulated Republican nominee Rep. Martha McSally on her victory over Democratic candidate Kyrsten Sinema in Arizona’s midterm election, but on Twitter he hinted at a bipartisan effort to investigate the results…again.

In response to a tweet from the president, the hashtags #TrumpAccomplishment and #TheDemocratsDeserveYourVote were filled with support for Trump and praise for him on social media.

More Republican victory right here in Arizona. Now, @SenJohnMcCain to face possibly the toughest challenge of his career. Victory for country and America! #MAGA and a bonus of right to know like we had at the beginning. – USA! pic.twitter.com/DhEgjrUJ3h — Congressman McSally (@RepMcSally) August 29, 2018

But the president hinted that he and his fellow Republicans were still waiting for an accurate election result in the Sunshine State, which proved his opponent in the 2016 election, former Vice President Joe Biden, wrong.

The former vice president famously pointed out to Sean Hannity that “the numbers are so wrong” that “they just don’t add up.”

Below is a round-up of popular tweets about the midterm elections.

Democrats will “move into the White House in a landslide,” if they execute well. Feels a lot like Bill Clinton…very much the same exact scenario you saw tonight. https://t.co/rSqhbc8qDQ — Daniel Foster (@danielfoster11) August 30, 2018

I am amazed at the partisan 5-4 rulings by the Supreme Court. Thankfully, this last term, Democrats in my state of Washington forced Congress to do something about their conservative/liberal agenda so I’m keeping my fingers crossed! — Eugene Gu, MD (@eugenegu) August 30, 2018

I’ve been finding an astounding number of reliable conservatives who refuse to believe the Arizona election results that clearly favor President Trump’s nominee, Martha McSally. https://t.co/6ZFfZZpZ9i — Howard Dean (@GovHowardDean) August 30, 2018

As Republicans gain power in the House, even as numbers within the Hispanic community and state seem to favor Dems, the majority of #GOP poll workers have been calling us to learn who their poll workers will be tomorrow. What a strange move by the Dems. Only add 1 degree to another 180 electoral college loss for Democrats. — Bill Brockmann (@billbecapb) August 30, 2018

For his part, Joe Biden is pleased with the results in Arizona.

“Look at how well Martha did in the state of Arizona,” he said after what has become his standard victory media statement. “Can you even call her an underdog? Well I think the odds are against her.”
